Study Description

My study is focusing on the Village of Hethersett between Enclosure in 1800 and the first world war. I am focused at the moment mainly on land use and the occupation of land during that period. In order to understand the layout of the land immediately before Enclosure, there is some research into the 18th century as well. Once I have a firm outline of the layout of the village through the 19th Century, I aim to populate those locations with the information about people and families derived not just from statistical records, but also to add colour from newspapers and diaries of the time.
