Study Description

During the 19th century people came from all over the world to Whroo, for the goldrush. They had high hopes of making their fortune. At the time Whroo was a thriving mining town. Today Whroo is deserted and barren, but popular for bushwalkers. There is evidence of goldmining on the landscape, but little else. There are no homes of buildings today. All that remains is a cemetery. This study will examine life on the goldfields at Whroo and the people of Whroo. The triumphs, struggles, and everyday lives of those who came to Whroo will be highlighted.
