The Parish of Millbrook, which in 1682 included Shirley, Hill, Freemantle, and Redbridge, all now suburbs of Southampton, Hampshire, England. Both Millbrook and Shirley were recorded in the Domesday Book. The area was mostly rural with a very large common area until development occurred in the mid 1800’s
