Study Description

This site contains extensive records (genealogies, church, census, court, wills, etc.) for the Valcartier area of Quebec. Many records are also posted for the surrounding villages of Riviere aux Pins, Stoneham, Shannon, and Ste-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier. The concentration of records is for the approximate 100 year period between 1818 and 1921.

Valcartier was settled in 1818 by immigrants mainly from Ireland, England, and Scotland. Today, although there are still descendants of these settlers in the area, the region is now mainly French-Canadian.
