Franklin County, located in northeast Georgia, was formed in 1784 and is one of the oldest counties in the state of Georgia. I’m researching the earliest settlers of the area— where they came from, where they went, and what push/pull factors influenced their trajectory. I am particularly interested in the ways the Civil War shaped the lives of their families and descendants.
