Study Description

Several of the farms in Derby Hills were demolished to make way for the Staunton Harold reservoir which opened in 1965. Others were affected by the Melbourne estate sale in 1919 and also by purchase and lease by Derby County Council under the small holdings legislation.

Initially the study will focus on land ownership and tenure from the middle of the 19th century until the 1950s.
