Study Description

Aiming to build a list of all past residents for each of the ~150 dwellings in the village, drawing on census returns from 1841 onwards, as well as available earlier documents, such as land tax records and tithe apportionments, as a resource for family historians and a foundation for some thematic narratives around eg agricultural work, education and leisure in this small rural community.

Timeframe

Mostly 19th and early 20th c but hoping to go further back – the village has a medieval core and scattered farmsteads
