Study Description
Originally based on the family histories of the individuals listed in the 1841 census, which covered the then 3 Tythings that comprised Yateley at that time, the parish of St Peter’s (whose registers started in 1636), the Parish of Holy Trinity, Hawley (1838) and the Parish of St John’s Cove (1844).
Timeframe
Using the 1841 census as a base, using the BMD registers as a resource, I am attempting to track the family histories as far back in time as possible and continue those specific families through to the 1939 register.
Population
1841 the census of the 3 tithings of Yateley was Yateley 717, Hawley 807 and Cove 418. The population of Yateley alone in now 20,500
