Study Description

Brierfield started out as part of the Township of Marsden. This was made up of two Chapelries in the Parish of Whalley – Great and Little Marsden. I am studying the growth from a small farming area to a mill town.

Little Marsden became Brierfield and Great Marsden became Nelson.
