Located close to the market town of Deeping St James, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Fens. However, the jury is still out on whether Frognall should be considered a hamlet or a small village, given its modest size and limited infrastructure.
Frognall has long been a quiet, close-knit community, centred around its agricultural heritage. Many of the residents worked as farmers or labourers in the surrounding fields, with local public houses serving as gathering points for farmers, tradesmen, and villagers alike.
My one-place study focuses on tracing the lives of those who lived in Frognall, building a detailed picture of the village’s social structure, occupations, and family connections. This study aims to preserve and share the stories of Frognall’s residents, offering insights into how this small rural community evolved over time.
