Study Description 

Aspall is a parish of scattered houses about two miles north of Debenham in the Hartismere Union. The number of people in the parish has varied from 87 at the time of the 1801 Census to its heights of 151 in the 1881 Census. The population today is roughly the same as in 1801. The parish comprises 834 acres of land.

The village is notable for its “Aspall Cyder” which is sold worldwide and the famous Chevallier Barley which was developed here.
