Study Description

The place name Livermere and the resultant personal name Livermore derive from the Anglo-Saxon Laefermere of Levermere, the lake with flag iris. This links to my One Name Study. The intention is to take a systematic time-based approach. I could begin with the geological eras, where it was the geology that created the mere where the flag iris still grow.

Timeframe

The parishes contain evidence of prehistoric settlement and environmental factors that determined the settlement and development of life right through into the 21st century.
