Study Description
The study focuses on the Jewish history of Volochysk (Volochisk) in the historic Volhynia region in what is now Ukraine. In 1897, the Jewish population was 3,295 (49% of the total). Today there is very little evidence of the city’s Jewish past. This study aims to gather historical sources and shed new light on the historic Jewish population of Volochysk.
