The word is out! Three of the Committee are at the Halsted Trust Conference at Hinckley, Leicestershire, actively promoting the launch of the Society. The 160 delegates from across the globe already include a number of members of the Society, with new joiners during the weekend bringing membership to forty! With studies in eight countries from North America, Europe and Australasia, we are pleased that the map already has the really international flavour we aspired to when founding the Society.

Our Vice Chair, Janet Few, lecturing today on the motivations for emigration from North Devon, not only managed to promote her own one-place studies but of course, extolled the virtues of our fantastic group.

The press release to the wider local history and family history world will be sent out later today to spread the word about our new journey. Are you on board? If not, join us quickly if you want to be in the first hundred members! Who knows what surprises are in store for those first 100?
