This is my attempt to find towns and cities across the world with the words from the song The Twelve Days of Christmas in the names. Day Eight, and the True Love presents Eight Maids A-Milking.
There’s a surprising lack of “Maid” or “Maids” as placenames on their own, but several Maidstones across the world including in South Africa, Jamaica, USA and Canada - presumably named after their original namesake in Kent, England. There is also a smattering of “Maids something”, such as Maids Moreton in Buckinghamshire, UK.
I found one place called Milk, in Gaziantep, Turkey, but no places called Milking, nor anywhere with “Milking something” which also surprised me a little.
Do you know of a Milking place? Let us know in the comments!
Time to get your dancing shoes on for tomorrow.

I am enjoying your posts – definitely making the point about noting negatives from research! I wonder what Milk means in Turkish. Hopefully more joy with Dancing!
